As ever with our "Summer Serenade" concerts, we offer you a fascinating programme - light-hearted, full of contrast and always enjoyable. Brahms' Serenade in A major features a chamber orchestra wihout violins - creating a wonderful, rich and romantic texture and allowing the wind to shine through. Then we have 2 concertos, Weber's Bassoon Concerto and the "Rococo Variations" for Cello and Orchestra by Tchaikovsky (soloists to be announced). The programme finishes with a "surprise" - that by Haydn, Symphony no 94 in G.
